I attended my daughter, Tasha's play recently at her University.
There were 5 short plays.
The organizers went on stage and went WoW!
They didn’t think that on a Friday’s night the turned out was overwhelming.
Anyway, he asked whether we would like to try something new.
There was this silence in the audience.
He asked again.
Then someone behind me replied “Yes! Why Not?” and he whispered to himself “I think I am going to like this already!”
The organizer answered Yes! Why Not?
He told us that the 5 short plays will be held in different venues in the campus! I was annoyed as I came early to get that perfect seat with a great view. Manju, my other daughter was agitated in moving but pleased in a way as she was seated next to a guy who had a bad body odour. We were divided into three group of colours as we changed venue our ticket was given a sticker.
The play was indeed a success, differently carried out do give this sense of anticipation, curiosity and excitement. Interestingly, we got to see part of the campus that was not open for public. As I reflected on the evening, I learnt that in life, we need creative thinking to go around a problem and grow.
University plays do not have huge budget for stage settings so what the clever organizer did was to use the existing venue to give that look and feel. My experience as an audience was not only the story changes but it’s nice to do a bit of walking in between scenes, change seats and get up close with the actors.
My initial annoyance has indeed been overcome with Life fantastic experience.
Blessing do happen when you least expect it.
hehehe Yes, Why Not ... gonna be part of me.
Cheers!
